The Washington County Center is increasing its commitment to defensive driving classes. There are four upcoming, improved sessions that will run regardless of class size. They all take place from 9:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. on Saturdays and cost $65. Drivers can sign up for classes happening on September 24, October 29, November 19 and December 17. Classes will be offered monthly in the future. Pre-registration is advised.
Students will learn to drive defensively for the sake of their families, friends, and their self! They will learn to recognize hazards, understand their defenses and act correctly and in time to avoid problems on the highway. Everyone is safer when they drive defensively, and they can avoid costly traffic tickets. Students will receive a certificate of completion that can satisfy businesses’ requirements for drivers.
In the past, classes have been cancelled if enrollment was not high enough. Students who had not enrolled would show up for the class only to find it cancelled. While pre-registration is still advised, this new approach from Beaufort County Community College will mean that students in need of defensive driver training will be able to find it regularly in Washington County.
These classes are available through the Continuing Education Department at BCCC. To register, call 252-940-6375 or email email@example.com.
