Spring Scholarship Recipients Announced



The Beaufort County Community College Foundation is proud to announce the following recipients of scholarships for the 2017-2018 academic year. This is just a sample of the recipients.

William Acre has received the WoodmenLife 623 of Washington Scholarship. Acre, 33, is son of Esperanza Rentaria and Marco Acre of Washington, husband of Claribel Acre and a father of two. He is working toward an Associate Degree in Nursing, with plans to attend a medical school. The Pinetown resident attended high school in Elizabeth, N.J., and he currently works as a nurse aide II at Vidant Medical Center.

Zachary Cosentino has received the Harold & Louise Lane Scholarship. Cosentino, 20, is son of Paul and Melanie Cosentino. He working towards Associate in General Education. The Washington resident attended Northside High School.

Stacey Godley has received the Tayloe Memorial Scholarship. Godley, 20, is daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lee Godley Jr. of Washington. She is working toward an Associate in Arts, and she plans to work as a pharmacist. The Washington resident attended Washington High School.

Amanda Hudnell has received the Irwin & Frances Hulbert Scholarship. Hudnell, 26, of Roper, currently works as a medical assistant at Vidant Multispecialty Clinic. She working toward an Associate Degree in Nursing and plans to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Nursing on her way to getting a Family Nurse Practitioner degree. Hudnell attended Mattamuskeet High School. She is the wife of Dustin Hudnell, a mother of one, and the daughter of Ruby and Donnie Brickhouse of Scranton.

Anthony Jordan has received the Tayloe Hospital Pharmacy Medical, TriCounty Broadband Foundation, Bunyan Ruritan, and Washington Evening Rotary Club Scholarships. Jordan, 40, is son of Odell Jordan and the late Beatrice Jordan. He is working toward an Associate Degree in Nursing, with plans to continue at East Carolina University toward a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. The Edenton resident attended John A. Holmes High School, and he currently works at Bertie Martin Regional Jail.

Tribecca Moore has received the Robert E. Farrish Scholarship. Moore, 20, is daughter of Anthony and Marie Moore of Washington. She is working toward a degree in criminal justice, with plans to be a homicide detective. The Washington resident attended Washington High School, and she currently works as a server at Pizza Hut.

Lisa Robinett has received the Jarl & Grey Bowers Scholarship. Robinett, 38, is daughter of Karen Smith of Louisa, Ky. She is working toward a medical laboratory technician degree, and she plans to pursue a bachelor’s degree in clinical laboratory science. Wife of George Robinett, she is also a mother of two. The New Bern resident attended Lawrence County High School, and she holds an Associate in General Education.

Whitley Toppin has received the Louise P. Kidwell Scholarship. Toppin, 19, is daughter of Christopher and Tracey Toppin of Washington. She is working toward an Associate in Arts, with plans to transfer to a four-year university. The Washington resident attended Washington High School, and she currently works as a front-end supervisor and office assistant at Food Lion.

Winnie Washington has received the Hannah Page Scholarship. Washington, 34, is daughter of Sherry and Bernard Hill and a mother of three. She working towards transferring to East Carolina University to study social work. The Greenville resident attended Ayden-Grifton High School, and she holds an Associate in Applied Science in Human Services Technology from BCCC.
