Family and Friends Invited to Academic Awards Ceremony

Every year, Beaufort County Community College holds a student graduate recognition ceremony prior to graduation to recognize students who have achieved a higher degree of academic success. The ceremony recognizes students as Summa Cum Laude (GPA of 4.0), Magna Cum Laude (GPA of 3.8 or greater) or Cum Laude (GPA of 3.5-3.8). Their achievements are also noted on the program for the main graduation ceremony. This is a huge honor, as these students have spent many extra hours working on projects, studying for exams and getting the details right to achieve these grades.

Students who will be acknowledged have received an invitation to the ceremony. They are invited to bring family and friends on Wednesday, May 2 at 2:00 p.m. in the Multi-purpose Room of Building 10. Faculty representing each academic program will hand out awards. Student Government Association members and BCCC Foundation representatives will also be recognized.

The afternoon timing of the ceremony and the ability to bring unlimited family members may make this ceremony a better option for those who cannot attend graduation on May 11. BCCC congratulates all of our high achievers. You worked hard. Stand up and be recognized.
