Medication Aide for Long-Term Care Facility
This 24 hour course is designed to meet the training requirements necessary for the Nurse Aide I to become qualified as a Medication Aide for Long Term Care Facilities. The course will cover the six rights of medication administration for non-licensed personnel. Students must attend all 24 hours of class and receive a 90 or greater on the final written exam to receive credit for the course. Upon successful completion, students are eligible to take the North Carolina Medication Aide written competency exam and demonstrate skills necessary to qualify for listing on the North Carolina Medication Aide Registry. PREREQUISITE:
Current NAI license with no substantiated findings. Social Security card and current valid driver license/government form of ID with photo.

COURSE LENGTH:
24 Hours (No Clinical)

COST OF CLASS:
The cost of the class is $70.

TEXTBOOK:
Medication Administration $14.14 at BCCC Bookstore. Prices subject to change. State Exam costs $55.

GRADE REQUIREMENTS:
A score of 90 on the written exam and satisfactory completion of a skills competency check are required to pass the course. Students must attend all 24 hours of class to receive credit for the course.

SCHEDULE OF CLASSES:
A class will not be offered again until Fall 2018
