BCCC Foundation Announces Scholarship Recipients & Invites Participants to Annual Golf Tournament



The Beaufort County Community College Foundation is proud to announce the following recipients of the BCCC Foundation General Scholarship. These scholarships are awarded to students in any program of study who demonstrate academic excellence and financial need for tuition and textbooks. They are funded exclusively through events such as its 29th Annual Golf Tournament for Scholarships on May 5 at the Cypress Landing Golf Club. Participants can register here or call 252-940-6218 to register a team. The following is a sample of the students who have received the Foundation General Scholarship.

Ricky Beacham-Dunlap, 28, is a resident of Washington and is in the barber program. Dunlap attended Washington High School. He plans to become a master barber.

Tamia Belcher, 21, is a resident of Plymouth and is in the pharmacy technician program. Belcher attended Plymouth High School. She currently works at advanced auto parts store as a cashier and plans to work as a pharmacy technician.

Maurice Bennett, 31, is a resident of Greenville and is in the barber program. Bennett attended Roanoke High School. He currently works at CMP as a batch operator and plans to work as a barber.

Damian Bond, 23, is a resident of Chocowinity and is in the barber program. Bond attended Southside High School. He currently works at Thermofisher Scientific. (Not pictured)

Herman Branch, 47, is a resident of Washington. Branch attended Washington High School and holds an Associate in Applied Science in Welding Technology.

Kiya Britton, 26, is a resident of Ayden and is in the barber program. Britton attended North Pitt High School and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Women’s Studies. She plans to become an entrepreneur.

Erica Burke, 46, is a resident of Washington. Burke is a barber student. She attended John H. Holmes High School and holds an Associate in General Education, an Associate in Applied Science in Business Administration, and an Associate in Applied Science in Cosmetology. Burke is currently self-employed. (Not pictured)

Briana Butler, 20, is a resident of Windsor and is in the pharmacy technician program. Butler attended Bertie high School. She currently works at East Carolina University Health Medical center as a pharmacy cashier. She plans to become a pharmacy technician.

Datrone Butler, 31, is a resident of Kinston and is in the barber program. Butler attended Greene Central High School. He currently works at Perdue and plans to work as a master barber.

Tasha Byrd, 45, is a resident of Williamston and is in the registered medical assistant program. Byrd attended Richard R. Green High School. She currently works at home life care as a certified nursing assistant I. She plans to work as a registered nurse.

Shantez Clark, 19, is a resident of Chocowinity and is in the barber program. Clark attended Southside High School. He plans to work as a barber. (Not pictured)

Jucora Davenport, 30, is a resident of Chocowinity and is in the barber program. Davenport attended Farmville Central High School. Davenport currently works at PAS Assembly and plans to own a barbershop.

Tracey Davis, 51, is a resident of Washington and is in the barber program. Davis attended Washington High school. She currently works at the Beaufort County Water Department.

Akeem Ellis, 21, is a resident of Greenville and is a barber student. Ellis attended Greene Central High School. He plans to work as a barber in a shop.

Shaniece Gaines, 43, is a resident of Belhaven and a barber student. She attended Martin Van Buren High School. Gaines is currently self-employed.
