Services

BCCC provides academic advising services to new and returning students. Once the admission process is complete and all official transcripts are submitted, new students will schedule an advising appointment for registration assistance. Students are encouraged to work with academic advisors throughout their educational experience at BCCC.

Childcare Assistance

Childcare Assistance is available! Give yourself a chance to study. If lack of childcare is complicating your education, please see below. You could qualify for up to $179/week per child (up to two children) in direct payments to your childcare provider. Students can qualify for a total of $5,728 for one child or $11,456 for two children per year.

Student Requirements

To be eligible for initial entry for childcare assistance, applicants must:

  • Not receive childcare funding assistance from any other source (ex. Department of Social Services)
  • Be a North Carolina resident (funds cannot pay for childcare provided outside of North Carolina)
  • Have at least one child under the age of twelve
  • Demonstrate financial need by completing the FAFSA
  • Be enrolled in a degree or eligible diploma program
  • Be registered at least half time (six or more credit hours) each semester
  • Maintain at least a 2.0 cumulative GPA or be enrolled as a first semester student at BCCC
  • Apply for assistance through the local Department of Social Services and either deemed ineligible for services or currently on the waiting list.

Applications must be complete and returned with the following:

  • Copy of the birth certificate for each child
  • Copy of the social security card for each child
  • Copy of student's BCCC registration statement
  • Copy of denial letter from Department of Social Services
  • An official letter from the childcare provider verifying the child’s enrollment or start date and the weekly rate for each child
  • Copy of the childcare provider’s license

Annual Security Report

Beaufort County Community College (BCCC) is committed to providing a safe and secure educational environment for all faculty, staff, students, and visitors. BCCC prepares an Annual Security Report in compliance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Crime Statistics Act. The full text of this report is located on our web site at http://www.beaufortccc.edu/assets/documents/2023-2024annualsecurityreport.pdf. This report is prepared in cooperation with the local law enforcement agencies surrounding our main campus and off-site centers. Campus crime, arrest and referral statistics include those reported to the BCCC Security Officer, designated campus officials (including but not limited to directors, deans, department heads, advisors to students/student organizations), and local law enforcement agencies. Copies of the Annual Security Report are available in the BCCC Police Department located in building 10 room 10-02 during business hours.

Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) Accreditation

Beaufort County Community College is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to award associate degrees. Beaufort County Community College also may offer credentials such as certificates and diplomas at approved degree levels.
