FAA: Aircraft Pilot Workforce Development- $374,930

Project will use a structured mix of in-person and online ground school teaching methodologies to reach a diverse student body upon successful completion of the ground school course and demonstrating proficiency in flying an FTD/simulator or drone. In addition to promoting the education of future airline pilots and creating a youth pipeline for potential aircraft pilots and drone operators in rural Eastern North Carolina, one of the poorest regions in the country, the program will address the lack of aviation opportunities for minorities and underprivileged students.

BCCC Minute Meals Pantry

Thanks to generous funding from the Louise Lester Foundation, Beaufort County Community College (BCCC) operates the Minute Meals Pantry across campus. Each building features a pantry stocked with ready-to-eat meals and snacks, offering a variety of nutritious options to help combat food insecurity among students. For added convenience, each pantry is equipped with a refrigerator and microwave. We are deeply grateful for this partnership, which ensures that no student at BCCC goes without food.



NCDIT: Digital Champions Grant

$800,000 awarded to address challenges in its rural service area through two key initiatives: the BCCC Mobile and the Beaufort Digital Bridge program. BCCC Mobile will deploy a highly visible van staffed by a full-time digital navigator to provide on-the-ground support, digital literacy instruction, and access to digital devices and internet connectivity.

The O’Reilly Automotive Foundation strives to have a lasting, positive impact in the communities where O’Reilly Auto Parts’ team members and customers live and work by supporting organizations and programs which address issues critical to improving the quality of life for underserved and underrepresented individuals and families. Open Door Women’s Shelter- Navigation Room

Beaufort County Community College will partner with Open Door Women's Shelter to facilitate the establishment of a Navigation Room within their shelter. The Navigation Room will provide a private meeting space for residents to meet with social workers or case managers, for children to do homework, read, and play, allow for residents to work on resumes, job searches, or connect with family, and a space to offer enrichment classes. This multipurpose space aims to address the limited privacy within the living facility and empower families and individuals to access resources and progress towards independence.

We provide grants to nonprofit organizations working to strengthen the resiliency of our communities and our planet with a focus on supporting nonprofits that strategically align with our funding priorities: financial health, housing affordability, small business growth, and sustainability. We prioritize funding to activities and programs that have a broad reach and support the needs of underserved communities and advancing racial equity.

BCCC Industry Training

The Weyerhaeuser Giving Fund supports communities where they have a significant presence or business interest. These communities range from rural to metropolitan, each with unique priorities and needs. Our employees serve on local advisory committees for our Giving Fund and help develop funding priorities within seven focus areas to support their communities: affordable housing; education and youth development; environmental stewardship; human services; civic and cultural growth; workforce development; and diversity, equity and inclusion.
