Nurse Aide I

Nurse Aide I a 160 hour course providing classroom, lab and clinical instruction. Students are taught to provide personal care and perform basic nursing skills. Nurse aides working in a North Carolina nursing home must be listed on the North Carolina Nurse Aide I Registry. Satisfactory completion of the course allows the student to apply for the North Carolina State Certification Examination. Successful completion of the state exam is required in order to be listed as a Nurse Aide I on the North Carolina Nurse Aide I Registry.

Prerequisites:
National Career Readiness Certification (NCRC) at a Silver level or higher

Requirements:
Uniform: white scrub top and navy blue pants to be worn daily while in lab and clinical. (scrub top and white mid-length lab coat embroidered with BCCC in royal blue) white closed toe/heel shoes, Social Security Card and current valid driver license/government form of ID with photo, Background check, drug screen, immunization upload to Castle Branch $85. Nurse Aide II
NA II a 186 hour course provides classroom, lab and clinical instruction. Students are taught complex nursing skills to perform for patients or residents. Satisfactory completion of the course and the final written/lab competency evaluation allows the student to apply for listing as a Nurse Aide II with the North Carolina Board of Nursing-Nurse Aide I Registry.

Prerequisite:
Copy of current NAI license and copy of H.S. diploma or high school equivalency

Costs:
