Beaufort County Community College is offering an evening opportunity to learn fiberglass boat repair and manufacturing in response to the needs of local industries and our community. This hands-on class is perfect for boating enthusiasts, DIYers, and companies looking to advance the skills of their employees so they can take on new projects with confidence. Starting January 21, the course meets one night a week at 6:00 p.m. and provides an engaging learning experience in a supportive environment. Scholarships are available for the class.

Participants in the class will gain essential skills, including techniques for repairing fiberglass damage such as cracks, air voids, and gelcoat issues. The course also covers an in-depth understanding of fiberglass materials and tools, along with practical tips for maintaining a boat’s longevity. These lessons will help participants confidently handle boat repair projects for personal or professional purposes.

In addition to skill-building, the class offers unique benefits like hands-on projects and networking opportunities with fellow boating enthusiasts and industry professionals. Whether you’re a boat owner maintaining your vessel, a marine industry professional honing your expertise, or a hobbyist eager to start a new project, this course is tailored to meet your needs.

Enrollment is open now. New students will need to first apply to the college as a "special credit" student. Don’t miss this chance to learn from experienced instructors and build a strong foundation in fiberglass boat repair. For more information or to register, call 252-940-6380.
