SECU Foundation Continues Partnership to Support Workforce Training

Beaufort County Community College (Beaufort CCC) is proud to continue its longstanding partnership with the State Employees Credit Union (SECU) Foundation in support of workforce training programs. Since 2018, the SECU Foundation has awarded 176 scholarships—97 of which were in healthcare technician programs—totaling $88,000 to help students pursue short-term workforce training.

For the 2024-2025 academic year, BCCC has received $18,000 in funding from the SECU Foundation, with $15,000 dedicated to Continuing Education student scholarships. This funding helps reduce financial barriers for students seeking credentials in high-demand fields, strengthening North Carolina’s workforce.

“We sincerely thank SECU for their continued support and recognition of the value of short-term workforce programs in our community,” said Sandy Berry, BCCC Continuing Education Scholarship & Sponsorship Specialist.

Healthcare technician programs include Central Sterile Processing Technician, EKG/Cardiovascular Technician, Nurse Aide, Pharmacy Technician, Phlebotomy Technician, and Registered Medical Assistant.
