Beaufort County Community College Ranked Among Top Ten in NC for Student Progression

Beaufort County Community College (Beaufort CCC) is proud to announce its top-tier ranking in the North Carolina Community College System (NCCCS) for persistence and progression metrics. For the most recent cohort, Beaufort CCC ranked first among community colleges in North Carolina of similar size and tenth among all 58 NCCCS colleges statewide.

The college achieved an impressive 76.7% in NCCCS’ Persistence/Progression measure, significantly surpassing the statewide average of 70.1%. This metric highlights the percentage of first-time fall credential-seeking curriculum students who either graduate before the subsequent fall term or continue their education by enrolling at a university.

Persistence and progression are key indicators of a college’s effectiveness in supporting students. They measure how well institutions help students overcome obstacles to continue their education, gain essential skills, and achieve their goals.
