Employers in healthcare and manufacturing look for NCRC scores for new hires. Now you can take the test for free at BCCC.

Career Readiness testing is now free for job seekers in Beaufort County

Anyone in Beaufort County who is looking for employment can now take National Career Readiness Certification (NCRC) tests for free. NCRC tests you for things like Reading for Workplace Documents, Applied Math and Graphic Literacy. Employers, especially in manufacturing and healthcare, like to have these scores for their new hires. Even some of our classes require that you have an NCRC score of silver or higher. These tests are offered in-person. Now thanks to a scholarship from the Beaufort County Committee of 100, all job-seekers in Beaufort County can take the tests for free.

The college offers NCRC Prep classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:00 p.m.-4:30 p.m. and every other Tuesday at 5:00 p.m.-7:30 p.m. These classes are free to qualified individuals. The college strongly recommends that test-takers attend the prep classes before signing up for the class.

Testing will occur at 9:00 a.m. on October 13, October 27, November 10, November 24 and December 8. Testing will take place at 5:00 p.m. on October 15, October 29, November 12, and December 10.

Call 252-940-6375 to get more information or to get signed up.

When testing, students should plan to arrive 15 minutes early. No late arrivals will be allowed in the testing room per ACT Testing Guidelines. Please bring a photo id. Cell phones and other items are not allowed in the testing room. Calculators, formula sheets and scratch paper will be provided for the Applied Math test. Please call to schedule an appointment. Only 12 seats available per testing session.
