Upcoming Law Enforcement Training Registration Sessions



BCCC's Basic Law Enforcement Training program will hold a monthly registration sessions for students who are interested in joining the Spring 2023 Academy.

The next BLET academy starts in January 2023. Students can have a law enforcement agency sponsor them, or the program is covered under the Beaufort Promise, meaning that students will have their tuition and fees covered. The program will hold registration sessions on the dates below where an instructor will answer questions and hand out packets that applicants must fill out before admission into the program.

  • September 27, 6:00-7:00 p.m.
  • October 25, 6:00-7:00 p.m.
  • November 29, 6:00-7:00 p.m.
  • December 15, 6:00-7:00 p.m.

The BLET program gives students essential skills for entry-level employment as law enforcement officers with state, county or municipal agencies, or with private enterprise. The program uses state commission-mandated topics and methods of instruction. General subjects include criminal, juvenile, civil, traffic and alcoholic beverage laws; investigative, patrol, custody and court procedures; emergency responses; and ethics and community relations.

Successful graduates receive a certificate and qualify to take certification examinations mandated by the North Carolina Criminal Justice Education and Training Standards Commission and/or the North Carolina Sheriffs’ Education and Training Standards Commission.
