Students Can Step Outside of Themselves & Step Outside of the Country with Study Abroad Mexico or Europe

BCCC Study Abroad Program is currently offering two exciting opportunities to travel abroad while earning credits toward your degree. The program is accepting applications now for both tours.

For the summer of 2023, the program will travel to Mexico for an 8-day adventure that includes Mayan ruins, snorkeling, and many more outdoor activities. This tour is offered in conjunction with two summer courses, HUM-180 – International Cultural Exploration and BIO-140 – Environmental Biology. The last day to apply for this tour is Feb. 1, 2023.

In the summer of 2024, the program will travel to Europe. We will visit Austria, Germany/Bavaria, and Switzerland. This tour will have a focus on history and music that includes visits to a Dachau concentration camp, Mozart’s homeplace, and the Neucshwanstein Castle. Courses offered in conjunction with this trip include MUS-110 – Music Appreciation and HUM-180 – International Cultural Exploration. Applications for this tour are open through Feb. 1, 2024.

Students who apply for programs early are able to take advantage of payment plans, fundraising, and other “earlier bird” opportunities.

To participate, students must take one of the offered courses in conjunction with their tour. They must also have a 2.5 or higher GPA and be 18 years old to travel. However, students who are 17 can still apply early if they will meet the age requirement prior to the tour.

The Study Abroad Program also prepares students to travel internationally, sharing information about passports, logistics, money exchange, and cultural differences, so it is ideal for students who are new to international travel.

Additional information and requirements are noted in the Study Abroad Manual. Contacting Suzanne Stotesbury at (252) 940-6339 or Suzanne.Stotesbury@beaufortccc.edu to join Study Abroad.
