BCCC Foundation Showcases Scholarship Recipients Leading Up to May 5 Golf Tournament



The Beaufort County Community College Foundation is proud to announce the following recipients of the BCCC Foundation General Scholarship. These scholarships are awarded to students in any program of study who demonstrate academic excellence and financial need for tuition and textbooks. They are funded exclusively through events such as its 29th Annual Golf Tournament for Scholarships on May 5 at the Cypress Landing Golf Club. Participants can register here or call 252-940-6218 to register a team. The following is a sample of the students who have received the Foundation General Scholarship.

Jovonte Gardner, 34, is a resident of Kinston and is in the barber program. Gardener attended Kinston High School, and he plans to own a barbershop.

Michael Godley, 32, is a resident of Washington and is in the barber program. Godley attended Washington High School.

Kyle Hardee, 20, is a resident of Greenville and is in the barber program. Hardee attended D.H. Conley High School. He currently works at Lowe’s as an associate and plans to work as a barber.

Kiara Hargrove, 27, is a resident of Greenville and is in the barber program. She plans to become a loctician.

Ronald Harvey, 18, is a resident of Washington and is in the barber program. Harvey attended Beaufort Ed Tech High School and he plans to work as a barber.

Kyshanna Hines, 31, is a resident of Grimesland and is in the commercial driver’s license program (CDL). Hines earned her GED from BCCC and plans to work as a CDL driver. (Not pictured)

Shanika Johnson, 40, is a resident of Chocowinity and is in the registered medical assistant program. Johnson currently works at ECU Health, and she plans to work as a registered medical assistant.

Monique Langley, 47, is part of the medical office administration program. The Washington resident attended Washington High School and plans to work in an office.

Justice Lloyd, 27, is a resident of Winterville and is in the barber program. Lloyd attended D.H. Conley High School. She currently works at BB&T as a loan servicer and plans to be an entrepreneur.

Fatima Manning, 43, is a resident of Greenville and is in the barber program. Manning attended Ayden-Grifton High School.

Charlotte Mason, 31, is a resident of Greenville and is in the registered medical assistant program. She attended Washington High School. Mason currently works at ECU Medical Center as a nursing assistant II. She plans to become a nurse.

Shikel Matthewson, 21, is a resident of Robersonville and is in the barber program. Matthewson attended Hobgood Academy and plans to work as a barber. (Not pictured)

Ana Martinez-Gomez, 27, is a resident of Williamston and is in the commercial driver’s license program (CDL). Martinez attended Jamesville High School and plans to work as a log truck driver.

Terrence McLamore, 42, is a resident of Vanceboro and is in the commercial driver’s license program (CDL). McLamore attended North East High School. He currently works as a machinist at Urethane Innovators and plans to own a trucking business
