BCCC Foundation Announces More Scholarship Recipients Leading Up to May 5 Golf Tournament



The Beaufort County Community College Foundation is proud to announce the following recipients of the BCCC Foundation General Scholarship. These scholarships are awarded to students in any program of study who demonstrate academic excellence and financial need for tuition and textbooks. They are funded exclusively through events such as its 29th Annual Golf Tournament for Scholarships on May 5 at the Cypress Landing Golf Club. Participants can register here or call 252-940-6218 to register a team. The following is a sample of the students who have received the Foundation General Scholarship.

Donald McCloud, 51, is a resident of Belhaven and a barber student. McCloud attended Northside High School. He currently works at Hudnell Construction Company as a carpenter and he plans to work as a barber.

Jarnel Moore, 27, is a resident of New Bern and is in the commercial driver’s license program (CDL). Moore attended Wake Forest-Rolesville High School. (Not pictured)

Jamari Nelson, 19, is a resident of Chocowinity and is in the barber program. Nelson attended Southside High School, and he plans to work as a barber. (Not pictured)

Fashikie Ore, 28, is a resident of Washington and is in the barber program. Ore attended Washington High School.

Christopher Perez Buerrostro, 18, is a resident of Washington and is in the barber program. Perez attended Washington High School, and he plans to become a barber.

Alvin Michael Perry Jr., 51, is a resident of Durham and is in the barber program. He attended Main State High School. Perry currently works at T&J movers as a driver.

Austin Smith, 28, is a resident of Greenville and is in the commercial driver’s license program (CDL). Smith attended South Central High School. He is currently working at BSD Towing as a shift manager.

Justin Smith, 33, is a resident of Greenville and is in the barber program. Smith attended Washington High School, holds an associate degree, and plans to own a business.

Alonza Stanley, 18, is a resident of Washington and is a barber student. Stanley attended Washington High School. He plans to become a barber.

Taonya Stanley, 25, is a resident of Belhaven and is in the pharmacy technician program. Stanley attended Northside High School and holds a bachelor’s degree. She currently works at ECU Health as a care partner. Stanley plans to earn an Associate Degree in Nursing.

Khahliya White, 20, is a resident of Washington and is in the barber program. White attended Washington High School.

James Whitney, 44, is a resident of Belhaven. Whitney is a barber student who attended Northside High School. He currently works at the International Longshoreman’s Association as a longshoreman, he plans to become a business owner.

Erwin Williams, 29, is a resident of Washington and a barber student. Williams attended Southwest Edgecombe High School.

Jonte Wilson, 39, is a resident of Greenville and is in the barber program. Wilson attended D.H. Conley High School. He currently works at The Daily Reflector as a senior press operator, and he plans to own a barbershop.
