77 Certifications Awarded to Healthcare Tech Students



Beaufort County Community College (Beaufort CCC) continues to forge connections between students and the healthcare industry. On December 18, the college celebrated students from the Nurse Aide I, Nurse Aide II, Phlebotomy, Pharmacy Technician, Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), and, for the first time, Central Sterile Processing Technician programs who earned their certificates during the summer or fall semesters. The registration fees for these programs are are covered for to qualifying students through the Beaufort Promise Scholarship. Beaufort CCC awarded 77 short-term healthcare certifications across these programs, bringing the total certifications in 2024 to 146.

Graduates of the Nurse Aide programs are trained to provide personal care and basic nursing skills, particularly for elderly patients. Phlebotomy students are skilled in blood collection techniques, while Pharmacy Technician graduates assist in preparing prescriptions. RMA students are prepared for both administrative and clinical tasks in healthcare settings. Central Sterile Processing Technician graduates are trained to sterilize, organize, and manage medical instruments in hospital settings.

The following students completed the Nurse Aide I Certification:
Lynashia Baldwin, Glennae Collins, Monika Bunch, Ibreeia Godley, Haven Grimes, Jahsaun Harrell, Emma Haselden, Rosanna Irineo, Ana Jimenez, Nicole James, Da’meia Moore, Marie Perez, Kate Riley, Karime Ruiz Palma, Belen Salazar Solano, Hayley Spencer, Jaiden Tate, Natiana Thompson, Khaimese Webb, Callie Welch, Jordan Welch, Denise Williams, and Samuel Woolard.

The Nurse Aide II Certification was awarded to:
Ruth Askew, Anna Howard, Ana Jimenez, Latoya Moore, Belen Salazar Solano, Ashlei Vogleson, and Yihennessi Wilkins.

The Phlebotomy Certification graduates are:
Devonia Burrus, McKayla Gibson, Jasmine Hollis, Yanhua Li, Deviyah Minor, Keja Norman, Kayle Radcliffe, Jaa’liyah Simmons, Rakemia Slade, Ranaya Smith, Jessica Wells, and Michael Williams.

Graduates of the Pharmacy Technician Certification include:
Lataria Alexander, Dulce Betancourt-Garcia, Shardra Beverly, Shanika Deloach Johnson, Tara Harris, Darlene Harrison, Michael Hewett, Shernice Hudgins, Kodesia Hughley, Alexis Jones, Taylor Lootens, Lena Perkins-Lane, Christine Sommerville, Antwan Thompson, Shannon Williams, Kathryn Whitney, and Sabrina Wyatt.

The Central Sterile Processing Technician program graduates are:
Aaron Bailey, Sheri Dameron-McCoy, Savanna Fulford, Karen Garcia Aguilar, Jermaine Gill, Wendy Guicho, Shereka Harris, Barbara Lilley, Kaylan Prayer, Kaileb Suggs-Selden, Peola Swinson, and Jamesha Thompson.

Finally, the Registered Medical Assistant Certification was awarded to:
Dora Burgos-Fernandez, Tiana Lewis, Latoya Sherod, Francesca Smith, Kaitlyn Spencer, and Mary Williams.

Students completing these programs may advance into further training, including the Nurse Aide, Phlebotomy, or RMA programs, depending on their qualifications. They may also meet prerequisites for degree programs such as Medical Laboratory Technology, Practical Nursing, or Associate Degree Nursing.

In 2025, Beaufort CCC will offer courses in Nurse Aide I, Nurse Aide II, Phlebotomy, RMA, Community Health Worker, Medical Terminology, Billing and Coding, Central Sterile Processing Technician, EKG/Cardiovascular Monitor Technician, and Pharmacy Technician, with classes beginning in January and February. Registration fees for qualifying students are covered by the Beaufort Promise Scholarship.
