Throughout the program, students will explore key concepts and practices in psychiatric nursing, behavioral health, and psychosocial rehabilitation. They will learn to effectively support individuals with mental illness or developmental disabilities, promote recovery, and facilitate the attainment of optimal mental health and wellness. In addition to theoretical knowledge, students will engage in hands-on training and clinical practicum experiences under the supervision of qualified instructors and healthcare professionals. These practical experiences will allow students to apply their learning in real-world settings, develop clinical skills, and build confidence in their ability to provide compassionate, evidence-based care to individuals with mental health needs.

Upon successful completion of the Psychiatric Technician Basic Level I Training Program, graduates will be eligible to sit for the certification examination administered by the American Association of Psychiatric Technicians (AAPT).
