Diesel Technician Academy
Credential: Compact Diesel Engine, EETC

This three course academy will include classroom instruction and hands-on labs to prepare students for a career as a diesel engine technician. Students can complete the academy over three semesters (Fall 2021, Spring 2022 & Summer 2022).

Diesel Technician Level I
Credential: Compact Diesel Engine; EETC

This course introduces the theory, design, terminology, and operating adjustments for diesel engines and systems. Emphasis is placed on safety, the theory of operation, inspection, measuring, and rebuilding of diesel engines and systems according to factory specifications. Topics include standard symbols, pumps, control valves, control assemblies, actuators, FRL, maintenance procedures, and switching and control devices. Students are required to register in both the classroom and on-the-job training lab with local employers. Employers and students will determine work-based learning schedule. Training hours may be held on Wed./Thurs./Fri./Sat./Sun. Hours will vary but may include day and evening hours. The textbooks required for this class include the Diesel Technology (978-1-64564-685-3) and Parker Hannifin Industrial Hydraulic Technology (978-1-55769-062-3) textbooks.
